Patanjali's Yogasutra - An Exploration

Patanjali's Yogasutra - An Exploration CD ROM aims at bringing the yoga sutras closer to the yoga public. It presents the sutras of Patanjali, along with its transliteration, and includes the translation and commentary of TKV Desikachar, one of the leading authorities on yoga today. TKV Desikachar's work presents a very lucid interpretation, based on his own study with his teacher and father T. Krishnamcharya, revered as the greatest yoga master of the last century.

This Yogasutra CD-ROM also contains an audio rendering of the yoga sutras, chanted in the classical style. It also contains the recital in a split up form, where the classical sutras are split up, to make it easier for the beginner to follow.The audio recital is done by Mekhala Desikachar, daughter and student of TKV Desikachar. The CD-ROM, also contains a repeat mode in the recitation, where the user can listen to the yoga sutra chanting once, and repeat it after. This option is available in both the classical and the split up mode.

This Yogasutra CD-ROM thus allows the user to listen to the expression of the yoga sutra, the way it was composed. The dual benefit of having the recitations, as well as the interpretation of text will hopefully provide adequate direction to the quest in understanding this gem of a treatise.
